Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
At DeviceScope, your privacy is our top priority. We built this tool specifically to demonstrate that powerful device diagnostics can be provided without compromising user privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our website.
2. Local Processing First
The vast majority of the information you see on DeviceScope is processed entirely locally within your web browser. When you check your screen resolution, browser version, operating system, or device capabilities, that data is read using standard Web APIs and rendered on your screen. It is never transmitted to our servers.
3. Network Requests
Certain features, such as detecting your public IP address, inherently require communicating with a server. When you use these features:
- Your IP address is only used momentarily to return the information to you.
- We do not log, store, or associate your IP address with any identifying information.
4. No Tracking or Fingerprinting
We firmly stand against invasive tracking. DeviceScope does not use browser fingerprinting to track you across the web. We do not use third-party analytics trackers, marketing pixels, or advertising scripts that compromise your privacy.
5. Cookies and Storage
DeviceScope uses standard browser storage (like localStorage) strictly for functional purposes, such as saving your preferred dark/light mode theme. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
